Crown Thinning & Lifting

Partial thinning or lower branch removal to increase light in your garden.

Crown thinning is simply the selective removal of branches within a tree canopy to reduce the leafing area, without reducing the size of the tree. This translates into a lighter garden but also reduces the risk of damage to the tree from storms.

Crown lifting is the removal of the lower branches of a tree. This has several key benefits:

  • Increased clearance for footpaths or highways.
  • Allows significantly more light into the garden.
  • Creates a better growing environment around the tree.

Both treatments make for a brighter, happier garden.
